The Run Hits Full Stride

Week 2 saw the spring run kick into a higher gear across the Striper Coast. Big fish continued to push north along the Jersey beaches and out into the New York Bight, while Long Island Sound lit up on both the north and south shores. In southern New England, the body of bass that flooded Narragansett Bay around the May full moon spread into Rhode Island Sound and Buzzards Bay, and the first solid reports of keeper-class fish started coming out of the Cape Cod Canal. Bunker pods continue to be the story on the south side. Find the bait, and bigger bass aren’t far behind.

The Chesapeake spawn is officially winding down, and the migration is filling in fast from the Outer Cape up toward Boston Harbor. Eighteen weeks of fishing (and prizes) still on the table.

For the latest on where the fish are, check the OTW Striped Bass Migration Map and the latest Striper Migration Report.
