Migration Update: Final Map of 2026, Summer Patterns Take Over

Last week’s release marks OTW’s final Striper Migration Map of 2026. The spring run is winding down, the bass are settling into their summering grounds, and the focus shifts from tracking the migration to dialing in the summer bite. The June full moon should move another wave of fish into Cape Cod, Boston Harbor, and Block Island, with plenty of action still to come across the Northeast.

Some of the largest stripers of the season are still in Rhode Island, both the mainland and Block, with sand eels and squid keeping the big bass fat and happy. On Cape Cod, fish have stacked up around Monomoy Rips on sand eels and squid, while Cape Cod Bay and the Canal have settled down and the Outer Cape is heating up. Long Island Sound is still fishing well, with the main body of bass pushing east toward Montauk. Connecticut is holding strong on bunker. Great Bay is still firing on herring, and Maine’s rivers, bays, and ocean have big stripers eating sand eels, herring, and mackerel. The season has plenty of fish left to give.
