In the 2020 Striper Cup Boat Category, thousands of anglers entered fish and every week one angler was selected in a semi-random weighted drawing as the winner of a weekly prize – prizes that included Shimano/G Loomis Combos and YETI coolers.

Striper Cup sponsors SIMRAD Electronics, Shimano, and YETI have given us a SIMRAD GO7 Chartplotter, a Shimano Tekota/G Loomis IMX Pro Blue combo, and YETI Camino Carryall to give away as a grand prize to a boat fisherman!

Shimano Tekota and G Loomis IMX Pro Blue IMX-Pro combo

Based on a semi-random drawing where each participant’s chances are weighted based on total inches of striped bass submitted, we’ve drawn a winner of the boat category grand prize.

And the winner is…

Alex Lubov of Chesterfield, New Jersey!

Congratulations Alex!!!

    Alex, you have won a superb boat, you will love the hull design. May you have many years of enjoyment. If you haven’t already get into a safe boating class before next season. May you always
    return to a safe harbor.

    Did I read that correctly only participates that submitted a fish picture were entered in the boat contest. I thought when I purchased my $50 packet I was eligible

      Hi Janice, you don’t have to submit a fish to be eligible to win the grand prize – the NorthCoast boat. This prize package was awarded to an angler who submitted pictures of fish caught from a boat or kayak.

    This will be my last year in the Stryper cup don’t like the way the tournaments being run your penalizing anybody who knows how to bass fish with the stupid photo winners I think it’s insane to award a gift like that to somebody because that photo is better than somebody else’s photo I don’t know how you came up with that I know Covid made everything more difficult but the photo choice was before Covid I think good luck with your tournament thanks for your previous years.

      Hi John, every week we award a pair of Costa Sunglasses based on the quality of a photo. All other weekly prizes and the category prize won here are based on length of fish submitted – the more inches you enter in a given week, the better your chances of winning. We don’t simply award prizes to the largest fish because we can’t verify a released fish. This change was made pre-COVID, when we no longer wanted to encourage fishermen to hang a big bass on a tackle shop scale. Bottom line is if you know how to bass fish, you improve your odds of being drawn for a prize like the one in this post.
